I'm reviewing two things at once here. The inn and then Brandwine Prime that is part of the Inn, but detached and on the main road. The reason I stayed here was because I was traveling for business and the hotel down the road was full. LUCKY ME! The Inn is cute. No no no, it's quaint. But I rather stay at a quaint place than a big chain monster hotel. The hotel was nice, clean, nothing spectacular but there was a cute complimentary breakfast that was nice to start they day off with. The best part is Brandywine Prime at Chadss Ford Inn just at the end of the driveway. This is in a historical building. The bartender told us that it was used by George Washington during the war, and that is awesome, but par for the course for the historic Brandywine area I guess. "Haha, I am drinking a beer where George Washington once stood." The restaruant is beautifully decorated, exposed beams, dark wood, original stone walls. Bea-u-ti-ful. Our service was excellent. We started out with a mixed green salad (yummy) and I had the fresh fish of the day that was cooked perfectly and then my boss has a steak that I tried that was really yummy. Steaks come with truffle pomme puree, sauteed mushrooms, pomegranate cabernet reduction and herbed butter. Do I need to keep going? Hah. They have a raw bar there, cool, but I didn't try it. Ended it all with a bread pudding that I'm sure immediately added two inches to my waistline, but it was worth it.
